About us

Surbiton Hill Methodist Church is in the London District and within the Kingston upon Thames Circuit. We are a welcoming, friendly and active Church including a mix of people all ages and from different countries and cultures. We offer a space for worship and a space for the local community to use.

Pastoral Care

At Surbiton Hill we have a strong pastoral care network to ensure that everyone who joins or visits our church feels welcomed, valued and care for. There are several pastoral visitors who keep in touch with those in their group, for example, by meeting for coffee or phoning for a chat, and trying to be aware of any troubles or concerns their group members might have so that they can be supported.

Prayer

Prayer is considered a very important part of our church life. As well as praying during our services for the world, our local community, our family and friends, we have a prayer chain of volunteers who respond to confidential requests for prayer. There is a quiet corner in the church for personal prayer and lighting a candle.

Services

In addition to the regular weekly Sunday services which include Junior Church, we have special seasonal services and courses – Alpha, Lent courses, Easter services, Harvest Festival, Advent courses and Christmas services to name a few.

Our care extends to providing for those important times of our lives – weddings, baptisms, and funerals. All of these take place at our church by arrangement. Information can be found on the services page of this website.

Safeguarding

We take Safeguarding seriously at Surbiton Hill Methodist Church and are committed to the safeguarding and care of children and vulnerable adults in our church community. All staff and volunteers involved in children’s activities and with vulnerable adults are required to undertake Methodist safeguarding training and have DBS clearance. Our Safeguarding Policy is updated annually and can be read here.
